Scrap Bag Quilts
Scrap bag quilts is for creating one of a kind quilts. Custom sewing means having a lot of wonder fabric left over. Always wonderfully beautiful, colorful, and interesting, and always unique, never to be duplicated. Start out by building 8.5 inch by 8.5 inch blocks, then sew them together. It takes 120 blocks to make a queen size quilt. 72 blocks for a twin size quilt. The queen size quilts are $1200 and the twin bed size quilts are $650.
First sew the scraps together, then cut each block to the square. After making at least 20 block,
you can begin laying out the blocks in a pleasing manner and then sew them together. ![]() After getting the 120 block made for the queen size quilt, it's ready to add a border. Because of the numerous colors already in the quilt, it's a good time to add a border that will draw out the color one wants to be dominant. This design lends itself to endless possibilities. And of course they can be made in any size. The next quilt was made for a lady in a nursing home. She wanted some Bible quotes to remind her of her oneness with God. She kept asking for her husband's phone number and a friend's phone number she liked to call. Embroidering the phone numbers on the quilt was a perfect solution. Backing the quilt with flannel makes it feel warm and helped it to stay on her lap. Applied embroidered lace were added for texture, beauty and conversational attention. What person in a nursing home doesn't want attention?
